Hi @JenGag I moved your post to the iOS app forum, a better fit for your issue. You must receive a notification from an app before it will appear in your app notification list. It is a quirk (eccentricité ?) with the iOS version of the app.
Are you a new member? I noticed that your page is blank. My list has things like Apple Store, Apple Wallet, and others. They are apps that I use like my airline apps. I think you will see items like those soon.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @JenGag. I'm sorry to hear that you can't have message notification for your Versa 4. I'll be happy to assist.
Please make sure that your watch is paired with your account in order to be able to receive your notifications there.
Thank you for your help and advise @LZeeW.

Have you already gotten the notification from the app as LZeew mentioned? You must get the notification in order to get the app on your watch.
