Challenge 'invite more' friends list doesn't display friends

I have a large friends list (700 friends). I can start a FitBit challenge and invite up to 20 friends initially, but on subsequent invite to invite even more friends to challenge, the invite button spins but it never resolves to the list of selectable friends like it used to.

Welcome to the Fitbit Forums @TroyB2! Is your phone running the latest version of the Fitbit? I'd try logging out from the Fitbit app, rebooting your phone, and log back in and try one more time.
