Change time for Versa without internet connection

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I travel Internationally a lot and accordingly change time zones a lot. The Versa only allows setting the time via the Fitbit app. The iOS Fitbit app only works if there is internet access. (Reminds me of Catch 22)

This is a huge limitation. So often free WiFi in airports is very limited and I am often forced to use my iPhone to tell the time until I am in my hotel. I have even resorted to wearing a watch to reduce my frustration.

I wish the app would have a simple "update the time" setting which does not require internet access. I cannot see how this would be hard to implement.

Hi @Krasney, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I understand how helpful it'd be to change the time on your Versa without needing to sync, and I'm sorry for this situation. As you know, currently the option to change the time zone requires internet connection to sync the time zone on your phone with your Versa. This idea was already posted in our Feature Suggestions board so it can be taken into consideration. Please check it out and click on the thumbs-up to show your support. The more votes the better the chance of getting the attention of the developers.

Catch you later!

This summer, while hiking, my Versa 3 shut down and I had to restart.  This left my time nearly an hour off.  Since there was no internet service, in the wilderness, I had no way to correct the time, even though it was connected to my phone, which had the correct time.  This seems like a silly situation that should be corrected.

I agree with you. I don’t understand why the correct time can only be obtained through an internet connection. It would seem using bluetooth, for example, could be a solution. I often cruise and if I can’t rely on my Fitbit showing the right time, it makes it more difficult to be on time for tours, etc. While I love my Versa 3, I am seriously considering switching to another brand where I won’t have this problem. I have read through posts dating back as far as six years ago where people in our military voiced the same complaint. Just to say thank you for your service should be a big enough reason for Fitbit to do something. Shame on you Fitbit.

Hi there, @ChrisF-Alta.

Thanks for joining this thread and sharing your thoughts about the Versa 3. As mentioned before, in order to sync your details and change certain settings on the Fitbit app, it's required to have internet and Bluetooth connection. I see where you're coming from and I'm sorry for this experience. Our team constantly works to improve our devices, and the input we receive from our members is a big part of the process. Rest assured your feedback won't go unnoticed.
