Oh, that's weird, go to Bluetooth settings, tap on Charge 2 and Forget the device.
This should deffinetly help and you should not have any issues syncing when opening the app.
Keep me posted on how it goes.

Hello @sillypup5
That's pretty weird, hopefully they will fix this on a next firmware update, if you have notifications enabled this will make the Charge 2 to be always connected to your phone as well, I guess an alternative would be deactivating the notifications.

I just got my Charge 2 this weekend. It is killing my phone. I tried "forgetting" it and that seemed to work temporarily, but now it shows up again in my device list under Bluetooth and it doesn't do anything now when I tap it - so I can't tell it to forget again. Phone battery has gone down 5% in about 15 minutes. Phone also gets warm. I never had this problem with the original Charge HR. I want to like my new HR2 but ....

@KathyNC I'd recommend turning off "All-Day Sync". My guess is that your Charge 2's background syncing is the root of the problem for your phone's rapid battery drain. You can turn it off by:
1. Opening the Fitbit App.
2. Tap the Account button.
3. Click the Charge 2 tile near the top.
4. Scroll down and toggle All Day Sync off.
Keep me posted if this helps!

I had turned off background app refresh and all day sync yesterday. Silent alarms is off. Notifications won't work with it "forgotten" so that is effectively off. Reminders to move is off. I don't think the display or menu items would affect the iphone battery. Heart Rate is auto. Exercise Shortcuts are the default ones - I did turn GPS off on the ones that had it set as a default. Quick View is on.
On the phone Settings - Bluetooth is On and My Devices shows Charge 2 as Connected, but no little i next to it - so I can't select it to forget it again unless I join it first. Under the Fitbit App settings - location is never, contacts is off, photos is off, bluetooth sharing is on, camera is on, notification is off, backgraound app refresh is off. and cellular data is on.
Fitbit version is 22.42.12. Fitbit app version is 2.28 (600).
Any other suggestions? Thanks!

I'm having the same exact issue. Bluetooth is always on whenever the app is open or in the background. With my previous Charge, the Bluetooth would disconnect once the Fitback app was no longer "up font" and in the background. Now the only way is to turn off Bluetooth or close the app manually.

I'm having the same issue. My Bluetooth will also automatically turn on after I tried to switch it off.
Chat with the staff online. The suggestion received was: log off from apps and off Bluetooth. That could help to solve the issue. Trying that today now for the 1st time. Hope it will work this time round..

The other thing that helped me was upgrading the iOS on my iPhone - they had improvements with bluetooth and apps.
