My new Charger 2 is recording in excess of 2000 steps when I have not been wearing it. Today I left it at home whilst out for three hours. I put it back on and checked it to find it had recorded an extra 2000 steps. No body else had access to it.

Hello @Shookie1, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board.
Since when have you experienced this situation? Have you restarted your tracker yet? Do you have MobileTrack installed in your account?
If MobileTrack is enabled in your account, it's possible that even if you're not wearing your tracker, your phone is counting steps through MobileTrack, and syncing with your phone, which transfers those steps recorded by the phone to your tracker.
If you don't have MobileTrack enabled, I would like to suggest you to perform an accuracy test to check that your tracker is working correctly:
If you notice a big discrepancy in steps, please let me know so I can check this further.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, give it a try and let me know the outcome!

Hi. We have tried several things to fix this same issue. I can sit and watch the fitbit charger 2 count steps when it is sitting charging.
It is not accurate. Since I started looking into this, I haven't worn it and it counted 700 more steps.
We have reset it. We have uninstalled and reinstalled on other devices. We dont have any other step counter that syncs with fitbit.
Is there a solution to this?
Thanks.
