Charge 3 not syncing after latest app update.

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

As above. Charge 3 Worked fine til about three days ago, now won’t sync either with iPhone 6 on IOS 12.1 or iPad Air 2 on iOS 12.1.1. From other reviews, this problem seems to be specific to charge 3. Bluetooth is working because the green connected symbol comes on, but connection is lost when the app tries to sync. I have tried all the obvious and recommended fixes short of factory reset or deleting the Charge 3 from my account and setting up again from scratch.

Hello @Bilbo23, I hope you're doing well, it's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far in hopes to resolve this issue. I understand you have already tried some steps on this board, but at this moment, I would like to suggest you to try the following in order:

  • Make sure the latest version of the Fitbit app is installed on your phone.
  • The software on your mobile device is up to date. To check, tap Settings > General > Software Update.
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around as they might interfere with the syncing process
  • Check that your Fitbit device's battery isn't critically low.

If your device still won't sync, try these steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Open the Fitbit app.
  4. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your phone again.
  5. Open the Fitbit app.
  6. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart it one more time.
  7. If your Fitbit device won't sync after the restart, log in to your Fitbit account on a different phone, tablet, or computer and try to sync.
  8. If your Fitbit device still doesn’t sync, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your mobile device and try to sync.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Did all that, including trying to link it to an old android phone once I had updated the Fitbit app. None of it worked. So I took it back to the shop where I bought it. They offered me a refund or a replacement. I said I would like to try a replacement to see if it worked. The guy checked his computer and said the product has been withdrawn, so he gave me a refund.

The bizarre thing is that it worked til the latest App update a week ago, and then stopped syncing both on iOS and on android. Your developers need to get a grip, this is absolutely crazy. I won’t be buying another Fitbit in a hurry!

Sorry but I cannot mark taking the device back for a refund as an “accepted solution”. Need to do better!

I have had the same issue since December.  Literally trying every possible solution.  It is still not finding my Fitbit to update in the app.  Poor customer service as fixes take forever and replacing it doesn't do any good because the issue continues

Hello @Kallie4401, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community. It's nice to see you too @Bilbo23Smiley Happy

@Kallie4401 you mentioned you tried everything, but it will be very helpful for us to know exactly which troubleshooting steps you've tried so we can check this further and determine what we should do next. If your device is still having trouble syncing and if you have not tried yet, my best recommendation would be setting up your tracker as a new device to reset the connection between the device and your phone. Note that all the information already stored in your account won't be deleted:

To set up your tracker as a new device:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  4. When the app asks you to replace your current tracker, please replace it and continue with the process.
  5. When a pop-up appears asking you to Pair your tracker to your device, tap on Pair and continue.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let us know the outcome.

Interestingly enough after trying all the steps included in the thread
above multiple times which I thought would have been implied by responding
in the thread. Yesterday shortly after I posted to the community my Fitbit
suddenly decided to sync with my phone and alert notifications began
working.

Seems like an odd coincidence.

Same as others mentioned after update my fitbit charge 3 will not synch with my IPAD and is shown disconnected in bluetooth. I have turned the bluetooth off and on and it occasionally will synch but then later it will not synch again. I have another fitbit charge 3 for my wife it will synch on another IPAD but I haven't installed the update and will not until this is fixed.
