Charge 3 won't sync to iPad

My charge 3 will not synch with iPad app after recent update

— i have deleted and reinstalled the app

— I cleared all Bluetooth connections from the account except the ipad

— I rebooted the charge 3 from the charge 3 setup menu

—the battery is charged

— I have a good internet connection

—when I try to synch, I get an error message stating that the device cannot be found or it tries to synch and hangs up after 4 or 5 minutes.

 

currently the device is worthless since I cannot see my data in the app. 

any advise would be appreciated.
