Hello and welcome to the Community @Nicky1964

Thank you for coming to the Fitbit Community with your question. I see you have a new iPhone but your having trouble syncing your Charge 3. Since you have a new iPhone please make sure your old phone is no longer connected as it may cause conflicts.
If your old phone is not connected and your still having issues let’s try first restarting your Charge 3. Here’s how:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display.
  4. Press and hold the button to restart your tracker:
    • For Charge 2—press and hold the button on your tracker for 4 seconds. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
    • For Charge 3—press and hold the button on your tracker for 8 seconds. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
  5. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

If your still unable to sync let’s try force shutting the Fitbit App. Here’s how:

log out of your Fitbit App

force shut your Fitbit app by swiping it up

Now shut down your iOS device completely and wait 1-2 mins then restart your iOS device

log back into your Fitbit app as you normally would with your email address and password

now try to sync your device

😃 please let keep me posted and let me know how it goes

I did all the steps, including log out of the app. Now I'm unable to log back in!

"Oops, something went wrong. Please try again." Repeatedly. Yes, I'm using the correct password.

It is not just you. I got the same phone and will not sync. I have tired everything!!! Won’t sync. And no my old phone is not in range or connected to my Fitbit. It’s most definitely the Fitbit. It worked just fine with my last phone. And now this phone it connect. My Bluetooth is connected to the watch and all the settings are set up allowing access to Fitbit but you go into the app and it can’t figure out how to connect to the phone. **ahem** Fitbit. I have the Charge 3. To be honest, I have had issues with it since I got it. So that’s how I know it’s for sure not the phones. Don’t buy a FitBit.

It’s annoying as all they say is they are looking into it. Tried everything suggested. I have a watch it’s not worth wearing as the time is never right for a start. I wanted a refund but no

I had to turn off my old phone. Then disconnected Bluetooth on new iPhone 11. Logged out of fitbit app. Turned off new phone. Connected charge 3 to the charger and pressed side button until happy face. Turned on new phone. Connected Bluetooth to watch. Logged into app on new phone. And finally it synced.

Have tried it all - at least 20 times. Still stuck at "connecting to tracker".

Must be a faulty fit bit. It worked at the start on my Iphone 5. Then worked periodically.

Upgraded to iphone 11 and now we have a stalemate.What a joke!!!~!

Hello all, thank you for your participation in the forums and sharing the difficulty you're experiencing with syncing your devices.

Thank you for the efforts to resolve this, sharing the solutions and tips to help other users. I understand that this can be very frustrating and appreciate your feedback since this helps us to keep improving. I recommend trying the following:

  1. Go into your phone's Bluetooth menu.
  2. Tap on the icon next to your Fitbit device.
  3. Press Forget this device.
  4. Re-open the Fitbit app and re-bond your device.

For complete troubleshooting instructions see Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

I'll be around if you need further assistance.

I thought you had finally given me the solution.
My IPHONE 11 finally paired with my Fit Bit - I thought.
After about 14 attempts I got past the “We found your tracker - Connecting to Tracker” stage and waited for a number to show. Finally after 7 or 8 more tries I actually received a number. When I entered it a circle with an x appeared. Thought I was on the right track, and tried a few more times with the same result, when alas, the number was accepted. Thought I had it made, as it synced as well.

The next day, it would not sync again with my IPHONE11.

Went back and reloaded my I phone 5. It eventually synced, probably at least 50 tries.
Many red lines, a few green lines, and sync. This transferred to my IPHONE 11.

The following day the iPhone 11 only picked out 8,115 steps out of 18,000 plus.

Today the IPHONE 11 would not sync, except for the steps I had programmed in the “Exercise” section on my IPHONE11- about 6,000+ steps (As I Exercised-walk). Back to my IPHONE 5 and again, after may attempts, it synced both phones.

Now I have tried all the suggestions.
I have logged out of fitbit and restarted. I have shut my phone off and on. I have deleted my fitbit and reloaded. I have seen the smiley face so many times, I smile back at it. I have shut my Blue Tooth of and on. I have buzzed the fit bit many times, hoping it would be recognized. I have held the battery logo until it reloads. I have also noticed that it shows as connected on Blue Tooth on my iPhone.
I have turned my All-Day Sync Off and On many times. It switches back and forth between sync now and Looking
The problem with it not syncing, is that it also screws up the time on the watch, so can’t even use if for that. It does correct when it syncs.

It’s frustrating, and if you are having many problems like this, please let me know and I can stop trying until you fix the program or until I buy a different watch.
Was thinking about buying the scale, but with frustrations like this not very likely.

Still having a tough time syncing to my iphone 11..

Takes hours and needs to be plugged in to computor.

Now it has changed the time on my fit bit to January 1

Stayed that way for a few hours - in the meantime, in frustration, I erased all of this days information.

I think I have a faulty fit bit 3

You have to help or I have to change.

At least let me know when your system is experiencing trouble - and I won't try as hard.

Having the exact same issues and tried all the troubleshooting steps a million times! So frustrating. I have iPhone XS. Has Fitbit given you any solution? I’m about to trash this thing and go spend the money on a Apple Watch!
