I was wondering if it would be possible to provide a better explanation of what is actually going on with these updates. Simply saying “We fixed some bugs and made stability improvements” doesn’t really explain what’s going on with the app or what the new app is going to bring.
Some examples:
These 3 examples are additional features and no different then the update on September 4, 2019 that included the option to see macronutrient breakdown. However, they were not disclosed in the app updates. I’ve included the link below for the ios app history for reference.
Me personally I read the notes on what’s changed. I like the idea of tracking the macro nutrients. So, I’d definitely have downloaded that update, but I probably would’ve held off updating if I knew one was going to bring all these “premium” options to the limited space on my phone.
Is it possible for Fitbit to better inform their users on what to expect with the app updates?

@KateFitbit I’m assuming you are the ios app moderator as you currently have several posts pinned to the top. Also, while browsing the forums I came across a post where one of the community council members said they were going to ask the ios app mod to step in, but at the time I think it was someone by the name of Grace. I apologize if you are not the current ios app mod, but if you could point me in the right direction that would be great.
@LizzyFitbit you helped me out on a prior post with the differences between “required” and “recommended” in regards to the location settings. I just wanted to say thank you! While this post I’m simply advocating for better app release notes I was wondering if maybe you were aware of what app update/version caused that setting change.

@thenameless1 we don't have any further information on what specifically occurs in the updates beyond what is noted in the documentation. I have passed this feedback to our team and it's definitely heard that this is something desired by the Fitbit community.
