Custom activities appearing online but not on the app

Hi 👋🏻

I’ve added a couple of custom activities to my Fitbit for exercise classes that I do regularly. I can see them on the dashboard online but I can’t choose them on my phone. This has happened previously ( think it took a while to sync the info to my phone!) and I just logged into the website and updated them on the dashboard online,  however it’s not letting me do this either.

Have tried force closing the app on my phone but still doesn’t work 🤷🏻‍:female_sign:

Any ideas? TIA

Hi there @LilMissShaz. Good to see you in the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂

I'd like to help with this. First of all, thanks for what you've tried to get it to work properly!

If you're not seeing custom activities showing up on your app but they do show on your online dashboard, try logging out of the app by tapping on the account section at the top right corner and then scroll down to the bottom and hit Log out of app. Then log back in with the same email address and password and see if that helps.

Let me know if you need more help!

Hi 👋

thanks for the suggestion, I’ve tried this but no luck unfortunately. I have added several Custom Activities when I had my Blaze and these all appear and can be chosen either on the app or on the dashboard to change it from Workout to the type of workout (custom activity) I’ve created.

I’ve recently started a couple of new classes and have added these as custom activities and they appear in the list that I see on the bottom left of the screen but when I try and edit the exercise details on the dashboard or on the app they don’t come up as a choice. 🙍🏻‍:female_sign: Gutted as I like to be able to identify which workout gives me the best workout

Im now having the same problem. I've added the custom activity in the website and it does not sync to the app, nor can I edit my workout to update there. I have also deleted a bunch of activities I had added, thinking I may have too many but I still cannot find my new activity.

Im using the Charge HR 2.

Hello,

Same problem here. All custom activities have been added online, but I cannot select them on the app. I logged out and back in again, but still can't see them. Help please!

Hello @SunsetRunner, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for having reported this to us. I would also like to thank you for letting us know the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far. Tell me, since when have you experienced this situation? When you mention you're not able to select custom activities in the app, are you searching them by name when trying to log in a manual activity? If so, please reply to me with a screenshot of your custom activities in the online Dashboard and what you're able to see when you're trying to add them in the app. This will be very helpful for me to check this further.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting to hear from you.

Hello,

is this issue resolved yet. I created some custom activities about a year ago and I can see them fine in the app.

however, I created a new custom app about 2 months ago and this has not appeared - PS have tried your suggestions of logging off app and re-synching

I just tested this again and it looks to be syncing now.

It would be nice to have the same function from the app to the website also, maybe in another update!

Hello @Backofthenet, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's nice to see you too @Nmacd85, thanks for taking the time to reply. Smiley Happy

@Nmacd85, thanks for coming back after testing this again and let us know your issue seems to be resolved, I'm very glad!

@Backofthenet, if you're unable to see the custom activity you've created, please try to add it again, it's possible the custom activity was not created correctly. If you're still having trouble, go to the Activity Section of the online Dashboard and try to create the custom activity from here.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

Hello,

thanks for the reply

i deleted and then re-added the custom activity in the dashboard, then logged off the i-phone app and re-synched - still did not have the custom activity available through the app.

so i tried a work around which seems to have worked.

i added a manual activity through the dash board using my custom activity as the exercise.

this then synched to the i-phone as an excercise with the custom activity as the type of excercise.

the custom activity is now selectable through the app when i categorize excercise!!
