Restarting a new thread since Fitbit clearly didn’t fix this.
I cannot set custom HR zone.
When I do, it automatically resets to default settings and shows 0.
Lots of consumers having this issue as per this thread https://community.fitbit.com/t5/iOS-App/Custom-heart-rate-going-back-to-zero/td-p/4302480/page/11
Using an iPhone8, with iOS 14.4.
The issue could be related to newer models, as my custom HR was fine with my Fitbit HR. It only started acting up after I added my new Fitbit Sense. In fact, it immediately reverted back to defaults right after, and I haven’t been able to fix it.
this is extremely problematic as my maximum heart rate is extremely lower than the defaults due to medication and medical condition.

There has been an issue with the iOS app for over a year in that you cannot change it within the app. And as someone who takes Beta Blockers I understand the need to have a Custom Max HR.
You can, however, change it on your Settings page accessible from the Web Dashboard - click on the gear icon at the top right and select "Setting".
On the Settings page, scroll down to "HEART RATE ZONES" and click on the section.
Select "Custom" for "MAX HEART RATE", change the value and submit the change.
Sync your device using the iOS app and you should now have the new Max HR and newly defined heart rate zones.
Be sure to monitor the change. The FitBit servers tend to reset the value back to 220-age on an infrequent basis. I have even documented that a simple change, such as stride length, can cause the Max HR to be set back to the traditional value.
