I recently installed the Fitbit iOS app and the entire UI has completely changed.
When I first began using the app, maybe 2 weeks ago, the dashboard buttons were displayed as square tiles/cells with graphical representations of some of the data. This morning the dashboard buttons were in a list with each button spanning the width of the view.
This feels like some kind of major change the UI, but is there some way to change from the TableView list back to the CollectionView cells?
Hi, @dusty_wayne , it seems you were part of a Fitbit trial testing out a new interface on the iOS app. You have now been returned to the regular app that other users see, so until/ unless they implement it, you won't be able to go back...

I think this is an inappropriate way to test a new UI.
Users should opt in for beta testing instead of implementing a mandatory update for some users and not others. The users involved in the "test" experienced a new UI and then a perceived downgrade. Also, new users who happened to be making a purchasing decision around the app may have experienced the "test" UI and factored that into their decision (like myself)- I was considering multiple fitness trackers and demoed a Fitbit with this "test" UI on the app thinking it was standard, and that UI was a huge reason why I went with Fitbit. Had I experienced this current UI, I would have made a different purchase.
I woke up this morning to the same change and I absolutely HATE it. I hope they hurry up and finish their test and put everything back the way it was. The 'test' layout is not user friendly and I can promise that this will cause me to use the app less and less with each passing day. How irritating. PLEASE FIX IT FITBIT!!
Hi, @Katie_SA , what you were seeing before was the test, and what you are seeing now (list view) is the current, standard Fitbit iOS app. From what I can tell, most people really seemed to like the "test" app, so maybe something like it will be implemented in the near future.

I couldn't agree more. I'm so pissed at this "bait and switch" I'm shopping for a new (non-fitbit) tracker. The "List" view is a joke. The arrogance and disrespect of the user is unprecedented in my experience. Bad move fitbit!

Unfortunately, once we have changed to the new design we can't go back to the old one. Fitbit has produced the following help file for the new design that may make it a little easier to get used to.
I agree 100%. The end user/consumer purchasing your product should have been given a choice as to the preferred dashboard and not been abruptly changed without notification, choice or change. The new UI is NOT very user friendly and is a huge downgrade from the previous UI. My wife feels the same.

This thread was originally started back in 2016 when the last major app update took place. The recent comments about the latest app changes are fine but you may want to consider posting in the main thread for these latest changes at:

They will probably get more attention from fitbit there.
This response is in regard to your email.
My responses may have been attached to an old post however I have been using a Fitbit for years and luckily had not encountered this Dashboard switch which is extremely annoying and not user friendly. I purchased my other half a Fitbit for father’s day and unfortunately it started out great and now has been given the beta test version of the dashboard without consent or desire to test or switch. For the post being so old. The switch is just now happening? Am truly considering returning.

Best AnswerThat is very disappointing and I am not happy at all with it. I wasn’t even asked to opt in to it. I’m losing interest it it now 🤬
