Difference of 4000 steps on 2 iOS apps on same walk?

Hi,
My husband and I went for a 3 hour fell walk today, both had our iPhone 6s with us. I tracked mine as an exercise but my husband just had his tracking steps. He recorded 20,000 steps whereas I recorded 16,000 steps. He's 6ft and I'm 5ft 6 and we walked the exact same walk. Why is this? I'm planning on buying at Fitbit charge HR but if the steps can be recorded with such a large difference, I'm not so sure it's worth it. Can anyone help explain what we did wrong? Thank you!

Hello @Clstrsts welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here 🙂 It's normal to see a different step count,  because even though you're walking the same route the steps are going to be calculated based in your personal information. Stride Length is going to help you to calculate the distance.

Let me know if this helps! 🙂
