Difficulty with Bluetooth connection

Bluetooth pairing SB seamless. Yet it is not.  I use an iPad while I am at home and when I am out I use my Android phone.  On my android my Fitbit Inspire HR connects seamlessly.  But when I want to connect to my iPad it is a different story.  Understandably I have to turn off my Bluetooth on my phone as the Fitbit seems not capable of two Bluetooth connections.  But one would think it could automatically pair back up with the iPad as it does with the android when switching. But it doesn’t.  I have to go into iPad settings and forget the device and do a pairing again.  Not sure if this is IOS or the Fitbit. It would not surprise me if it was Apple as they just have issues on everything when it comes to connectivity. .. but I thought I would bring this up.
 Hopefully this can be addressed.
