Distance tracking wrong - hubby gets more

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I was KILLING my husband today, by over a thousand steps when we set out for our evening walk. We walked the EXACT same distance. My stride is shorter than his, confirmed in both fit bit apps. When we ended, he was a few hundred over me in steps. How is this even possible?! I have to take more steps to walk alongside of him, but he comes out on top, always!

We both have the Blaze. We both have iPhones. Help!

Hello @KarenVeat, thanks for joining us, it's great to have you on board! Smiley Happy

If your Blaze seems to be counting less steps, I would like to suggest restarting your tracker by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. After that, let's perform an accuracy test to check that your tracker is now working properly:

  1. Put your Blaze on your wrist and check how many steps you have at the moment.
  2. Walk 100 steps, making sure to count a step each time one of your feet hits the ground.
  3. Pause, then check your tracker to see your step count.

In case you notice a significantly amout of steps not being counted, my best recommendation would be contacting our Support Team. Let them know about the steps you've performed so far, I'm sure they will be more than happy to get you back on track.

Give it a try and let me know the outcome! Smiley Wink
