I got a new phone on Sunday (Apple 6S), upgraded from a 4S and my FitBit would not sync. I think I resolved that by restarting my tracker, but I also noticed that everyday, three days in a row now, my stair count doubles in my phone app. My tracker said 8 turned to 16, 10 to 20, and today 2 to 4. I have seen comments about sweat and atmosphericpressure, but could it be something else. Never sis it before my new phone?
Thanks for any help.

Thanks from taking a break from stepping to visit the Community @AB_19! That sounds odd. Specially that you started noticing extra floors after you upgraded your iOS device. However, I'd recommend restarting your tracker once again, just to be on the safe side. After you do that, keep an eye to your tracker's behavior. You were right about the comments you read about the tracker's altimeter which is a sensor that calculates altitude based on atmospheric pressure. Atmospheric pressure decreases with increasing elevation, so the tracker calculates elevation gain based on the reduction in atmospheric pressure. Your tracker registers a floor when it detects continuous motion combined with an elevation gain of 7 to 10 feet.
Also, your tracker may give you credit for extra floors for a variety of reasons. On occasions your tracker may detect pressure changes unrelated to elevation gains, such as a gust of wind, weather change, or opening a door. Another thing to consider is exposure to excess moisture can also result in extra floors being counted. This happens if the pathway to the altimeter on the back of your tracker becomes temporarily blocked with sweat or water. I'd recommend cleaning your tracker after every work out session!
Hope this helps. Keep me posted with the outcome!

@AB_19 That's indeed unusual! Thanks for getting back to me and for taking the time to troubleshoot this. Have you checked that your Fitbit app has been updated to its latest version? Also, I'd recommend force quitting your app and let me know if the issue persists, so I can further investigate this on the Community!
Looking forward to your new comments.

The problem has seemed to worsen. I can not even sync my tracker with my
iOS 9.2.1. I have tried everything from restarting my tracker, hard
closing the app, deleting the app and reinstalling, everything I have found online to
try etc. Everything is on the latest version and I have never had problems, until I
got a new phone. Although, my husband got a new phone at the same time, and everything is
working fine for him. I have some kind of warranty/protection plan, as this was gifted for Christmas.
I think I want to look into that and see if I can get a new tracker? I don't know what else to try.
