Entire Dashboard Disappeared from iMac

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I got a message saying that a new version of Fitbit Connect is available (2.0.06563) and that I have 1.0.3.5510. I hit "install update", but it gave me an error message and now the dashboard is just green (no tiles). Any suggestions on how to get the dashboard back? My iPhone app is still working.

error message: "an error occurred while extracting the archive. Please try again later."

Edit: Got my dashboard back by restarting my computer. However, I still get a message that my dongle can't find my tracker (I'm right near it). I didn't try to update the new version again, since that didn't work too well......

Couple things I can think of, fiest would be to log out of the web dashboard and log back in. The second siphon be to see if you can add the files back.

Thanks for your reply. My dashboard seems to be working like normal. Maybe that whole connector update isn't necessary? I'll just let it be for now....

If you sync through a phone, then the Fitbit connect on the computer will not be needed at all.

Hey there @MarianneG, it's nice to see you around the forums! Great to know you were able to solve this by restarting your computer, I guess that maybe your computer just got stuck after the update... Woman Embarassed?

I agree with my friend @Rich_Laue, I don't even use my Mac as I sync through my iPhone (easier I think). Keep in mind that your tracker syncs every time you open the app. It can also sync periodically throughout the day if you have All-Day sync turned on. If you sync your tracker with a computer and Fitbit Connect, it syncs automatically every 15 to 30 minutes assuming the tracker and computer are in proximity, and the dongle is plugged in, if applicable (the Charge 2 is not applicable).

You can also initiate a sync whenever you like if your tracker is nearby. If you're using an iOS or Android mobile device, you can sync your tracker from the Fitbit app dashboard by touching your tracker image at the top of the screen and pulling down.

If you still want to sync through your Mac, do the following:

  1. Click the icon with a Fitbit logo located near the date and time on your computer.
  2. Click Open Main Menu, and then click Sync Now. You may be asked to sign in, after which your tracker should sync with your account.

You can sync your tracker with any compatible mobile device or computer that meets syncing requirements. However, be aware that since you receive notifications from your mobile device on your tracker, you'll need to disable the Bluetooth bond between device and tracker before using a different device. Man Wink
