Hello @Mollye123 and welcome to the Community. The calorie burn is sum of your BMR and activity calories. Those calories are your BMR calories. They are the calories you burn staying alive. There is no way to remove them.

As @LZeeW stated, the calories recorded while you are inactive (or not wearing your fitbit), represents your basal metabolic rate. I wear my Charge4 24x7. Looking at my hourly calorie burn on the app, I burn 70 calories per hour when I'm sleeping. A BMR Calculator indicates my basal metabolic rate is 1,677 calories, which is 69.875 calories per hour. So, I believe the fitbit algorithm is accurate.
Best Answer@mcw53 Your calculator is using the Revised Harris-Benedict equation. Fitbit uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation.
