I am not able to search new food or enter a food manually into the app. it just crashes each time i try. I can add foods i have already added before but nothing new. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hello and welcome to the Fitbit Community @JennW35
I understand your Fitbit App “crashes” each time you try to add food. Let’s try this and hopefully it will resolve the issue:
log out of your Fitbit App
force shut the app by swiping the app upward
turn off your iOS device completely, wait 1-2 mins then turn your iOS device back on
log back into your Fitbit App as you normally would with your email address and password
now sync your Fitbit Tracker
try to add food now

Still not able to log food or water, please help, I got a Fitbit in order to log Food!!!!

Thank you for joining the thread and sharing that you're experiencing the same issue. I understand how you are feeling and recommend trying the following:
- Log out from the Fitbit app.
- Verify if the Fitbit app is updated to the latest version. For instructions, see this help article.
- Force quit the Fitbit app.
- Reboot your phone.
- Open the Fitbit app and log back in to your account.
- If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall the Fitbit app.
