First week of ownership feedback

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Some things I’ve noticed with the device and app after my first week of ownership.

1. my charge 3 records far more steps than my phone. I’m putting this down to general arm movements being recorded as steps. I generally wake up with steps recorded which is strange. Not sure how Fitbit can suggest I’m sleeping if it’s recording steps.
2. When I add calories and water intake for previous day it is recorded in the current day. And it is impossible to delete these entries from the app which is really annoying as I don’t have a desktop or laptop computer.
3. Sometimes I when I wake up I like to sit and read in bed but Fitbit thinks I’m still asleep. My bpm can be low in the day (54bpm) and sometimes if I’m sat on the bus it’s recorded as a being asleep.
4. I feel like the app needs a revamp, it can’t compete  the Apple UI at present but I understand you get what you pay for.
5. I’m considering cancelling theprimemembership after the trail if the inaccuracies aren’t fixed. Don’t want to be paying if I’m being misinformed.
6. sp02 sensor? How’s that working then? I was told it has one but now find out you can’t use it?

7. Steps reminder can’t be adjusted. I’d like to do 500 steps rather than 200 but I can’t change the default setting.
8. Can’t sync with HealthKit on iPhone? That’s really frustrating. I’m having to manually input data back and forth, that’s not very 2019 and any dev could make this work.

Has Fitbit thought about going open source? That could be awesome as it feels like they are lacking development. Will probably be going to Apple Watch in the summer when I’ve saved up sorry Fitbit, you must up your game.

Hi @Kurph. Welcome to the Community!

Congrats on your new Charge 3 and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts about your experience with it. Our team loves hearing our members comments to continue working and development improvements. I appreciate your time and be sure that your feedback will be passed along to them. You can also post new ideas that you'd like to see in the future in the Feature Suggestions board so others can vote for it and it can get the attention of the developers.

Let me share that your tracker will record steps based on your arm movements, and sometimes when working at a desk, cooking, or performing other activities with arm movements, a device on your wrist may add some steps. The same happens when sleeping as your tracker will think you're walking and once you're inactive your tracker will continue tracking your sleep. Now, to delete incorrect data logged in the Fitbit app you can follow the steps described to delete calories and water intake in the Fitbit app. Make sure the Fitbit app is updated to the latest version so the information can be logged correctly.

About the SpO2, in the future, this sensor could give consumers the opportunity to identify potential health issues like sleep apnea. Our team is still exploring how this would appear in our members experience. Once it's available, we'll share it with you in our website. As you may know, a reminder to move is a notification that cues you to walk at least 250 steps per hour to help you meet your hourly activity goal. Currently that amount of steps cannot be changed, but I'd recommend to check this request posted by another user an add your vote to show your support.

In regards to your last inquiry, currently there isn't an option to integrate and sync Fitbit data to Apple Health. I understand how helpful for you would be to have that data integrated on both apps and I'd recommend to make your suggestion to Apple so they can integrate to our open API and SDK to make this integration. You can also check the great suggestion posted by our friend @kykypy3ka

I'll be around if you have another question.
