I wish there was a dark mode option for the app.

SAME. Been wishing that for years. In October of 2023 they posted on the blog that they're "also working on other updates based on your feedback, like dark mode." 

Definitely add your vote like @N8teGee said, but users have been asking for dark mode in the app since dark mode became A Thing in phone OSs.
