Fitbit Blaze kills my Ford Sync connection

Any advice?

I had a charge HR and it didn't adversely affect my iPhone's connection to my 2015 Ford Focus' SYNC system.

Upgraded to a Blaze on Father's Day as a self treat and it just killed the connection to my car completely.

I tried all the usual steps of resetting everything possible etc but no progress. Anyone experiencing anything similar?

Since pairing with the blaze, my phone now can't recognise the car at all.

Bluetooth on the phone works fine - connects to blaze + other devices.

Bluetooth on car is fine - can connect to other phones.

The problem is the new Fitbit somehow makes my phone and car unable to connect to each other.

Hi @Welshy316,

If you manage multiple Bluetooth connections on your iOS device, it is possible that you may experience some types of Bluetooth interruptions, especially with consistently streaming Bluetooth connections for things like: head sets, car multimedia systems, or Bluetooth speakers. Click here for more information.

These interruptions are known limitations with iOS and Bluetooth.

I have seen this stock response on multiple threads and I don't really think blaming Apple is the answer.

The fact is it worked completely fine with another Fitbit connected at the same time and all that has changed in the setup is I've switched from a charge HR to a blaze.

There must be a difference in how the blaze's Bluetooth works and I'm looking for a workaround

 I don't know anything about Ford's connection.

Is it the streaming of  or the music control link between the car and the phone.

Are you able to respond to texts through the cars interface?

As for music control, only the Blaze and Surge have this, yes the Blaze might be hijacking the cars ability to control music.

As for music streaming the Blaze usually will have no affect

Those interruptions are known issues with Bluetooth and any phone

It's not an interruption. I'm not connecting then disconnecting.

It is that when the Fitbit is on, the car is unable to even be discovered. As in, it doesn't show on the list of devices

That would still be an interruption when two BT devices are trying to compete. IE: the keyboard on the Surge and the keyboard in the car.

Have you tried turning BT Classic off on the Blaze? Connect the car than turning it back on?

Reading up on the ford connect i see it will let a user lock, unlock, remotely start and locate tyeir car, from virtually anywhere through the internet. Nothing about being able to control the phone from the radio.
