Fitbit won't sync to iOS app

My Fitbit flex went completely dead while on vacation. After I charged it, I opened my app to sync it start tracking steps, and it still says battery empty. I have deleted and downloaded the app again. It won't sync.

When you want to get the Flex going again after the battery dies, you'll want to do a restart. Try the procedure and do it three times to ensure it's done. click
