Fitbit Charge 2 - will nto connect to my MAC

I have tried to pair my Charge 2 to my MACBook Pro 10.2 several times but can't get it to connect. I have downloaded the app, restarted the computer, turned off the bluetooth and turned it back on but it still will not pickup the C2. What is step have I not done to get it connected?

just downloaded the app myself

 

 

took quite a few times before it found it, and when trying to sync, again it takes quite a few time

 

the best place with the best success rate of connecting I found is behind the screen....

 

I have the One

 

Mac OS Sierra Version 10.12.2

 

think I'll stick with the mobile app, quick and connects every time
