Fitbit Ionic Not Receiving text Notifications.

I rebooted my iPhone, unpaired my fitbit and repaired it, turned notifications on and off, resynced it, made sure all my settings were correct, and here was the results:

- App based notifications (such as Discord) seem to work and get pushed to the phone just fine

- iOS's built in message app that sends/received text messages will not properly forward notifications to the fitbit. This seems to have occurred with the latest iOS update on the 25th of May.

You can only see text when you have your message settings on show preview

witch is crap and I hope they change it soon

You just fixed my problem!! I went into my notifications and went to
messages. My “show preview” was on “never” for whatever reason. I changed
it to “when unlocked” and I immediately received my last text on my Fitbit
Thank you so much. I just hope it keeps working lol

Someone just responded to my post. Not sure if you saw it. I tried what he
said and it worked! Hopefully it keeps working lol. So, if you go to
settings, notifications, messages, the show previews—push on “when
unlocked”. Do the same for your Fitbit app as well (someone else had
mentioned that in a different post with different instructions). Having
both set to “when unlocked” gives me texts to my Fitbit ionic now. I hope
this helps.

I’m glad it helped you

the only problem with it is you can now see your text on your phone screen why it’s locked

I really do not see the problem with that.  When your phone is unlocked, it is in your hand, being used.

all you have to do, is lock the phone everytime you put it down, or adjust the time it takes to lock itself after use.

The problem is, now when I get a text message, my messages are shown on my
screen. Whereas before I had it set to “never” and you only saw “iMessage”
or “text message” when I received one. I don’t like other people reading my
messages if my phone isn’t around me. Not sure why they say “when unlocked”
because the phone is locked when I get a text.

I give up.  Some people just dont listen, or just dont read.  The fix works.  Im out.

No on a locked screen you can still read most of the text as it shows a preview

so if your phone is locked on the table and you get a text as I walk past I can see what it says

What worked for me, after doing everything explained in here, I didnt have the Banners "Checked" for messages. After I did this, I started getting alerts on text messages.
