I rebooted my iPhone, unpaired my fitbit and repaired it, turned notifications on and off, resynced it, made sure all my settings were correct, and here was the results:
- App based notifications (such as Discord) seem to work and get pushed to the phone just fine
- iOS's built in message app that sends/received text messages will not properly forward notifications to the fitbit. This seems to have occurred with the latest iOS update on the 25th of May.

Managed to fix this issue myself.
So, there's another setting that must be enabled for notifications to get sent to your fitbit:
If the middle box, "notification center" is not enabled, then the notification won't happen; having it be on the lock screen or banner is *not* enough. This resolved my issue.

Thank you @Fox_McCloud I know nothing about iOS and will move your post to iOS. Rather then jumping in and hijacking a thread.
Impaired means that the tracker was removed from the phones list of trusted Bluetooth devices. I have yet figured out what a user means when they state that they repaired. The user can not pair a tracker to the phone through the phones Bluetooth.

re-paired is what I meant.
In any event, what I meant to say is, I went into the iPhone's interface and told it to "forget" the fitbit Ionic for the bluetooth connections.
Afterwards, I went into the fitbit app and told it to forget the device there, as well.
Afterwards, I used the fitbit app to re-pair the app to the ionic.
I'm really not sure why this post was moved, to be frank; it was a virtually identical issue of: since the most recent major iOS update (on May 25th), SMS push notifications will not work. That said, other apps on iOS do work with push notifications.

If you're only having trouble with Text Notifications, please go to your phone Settings > Notifications > Messages and make sure that under "Sounds" you have selected any other option than "None":
Please give this a try and let us know the outcome.

Yeah, I already went through that step, as well; no impact.

This is still a problem; I've tried all your recommend instructions to fix the problem (and more), and it still persists.
Again, this occurred with the most recent version of iOS. Are there any plans to fix this? Not getting SMS notifications on my watch is a huge negative.

This does not resolve the text notification problem. I have everything turned on as i should be, have done all steps regarding unpairing, reinstalling, etc.. All of it, many times. Still no text notification. Call notification works though.

My text Messages have always been intermittent as far as coming to my Fitbit Ionic. Ever Since the iOs 13 update the text messages do not come to my Fitbit Ionic, but all the other notifications do

Text message are not coming through from an iPhone 8 to Fitbit iconic. Seems other notifications come through. I have done a factory reset twice and resetting it up. Still am getting the same results. Will there be a solution soon for this issue?

Fitbit provided an update on the issue earlier today. You can view their response in the link below.
Basically, they are working on the issue. I'm hoping it gets resolved soon as well.

I have an iPhone 8 as well and this is still a problem I can't receive any text messages! What is the point of having this forum if you are not listening to our problems and fixing the situations

My Fitbit received texted from my iPhone 6 until I switched to the XR. Now I can’t get any text messages on my Fitbit. I’ve done everything I can to fix the issue and nothing has worked. I’m wondering if there are any issues with Samsung phones??

Same as all above. Never been able to get text messages to my iPhone X. Love the watch in all other aspects but agree this problem has been really frustrating and with each update I hope it will be fixed but sadly no

As I have said, many times. You are doing it wrong. It works. Just follow what I have previously said, and it works.
