Fitbit and Apple Watch

Apple and Fitbit should come up with a watch together. All the features of an Apple Watch. But had the fitness tracking of a Fitbit.

Why would either company want to work with the other? Fitbit is primarily interested in fitness trackers and only adds some smartwatch like features. They do not appear to currently be interested in developing a true smartwatch. Plus, they are the leader in fitness trackers. Why would they want to share their technology with Apple?
