When I try to view sleep stats on my app on my iPhone XR, the app freezes and need to exit the all but it keeps reoccurring.

Our team has just released a new version for the Fitbit app in iOS devices (3.40). For instructions on how to check your current app version and update, please visit this article and open the menu "How do I update the Fitbit app?".

 

I moved your post to the iOS App board because it is more related to the topic.
