Fitbit app is slow on food section

Terrible response time on iPhone app - Especially in the add Food section.

This has been noticeable since the recipe section was added which is absolutely ridiculous. It is slowing down load time and data entry time. If I want recipes, I could go to a separate section for that just like for “Community” or “Mindfulness” why add it to the most used portion of the app?

My husband and I are discussing leaving Fitbit behind and choosing a different vendor due to the nonsensical additions which have slowed app response times to a sluggish crawl. I click the + to add food and literally wait 4 seconds before my options open, then every subsequent click is 4 seconds response. Ludicrous.

The app was responsive and useful but is becoming very frustrating to use for the most simple tasks that it was designed to do. #RemoveRecipes

We were all experiencing a serious lag between the time we tapped the food tile on the Today screen until the Food Log page would appear and a second delay while the annoying premium adds. Those delays were sometime three seconds each.

With the release of iOS app 3.39, those delays have stopped.

Be aware that the "NUTRIENTS" section on the Food Log page has disappeared. It is still available for both previous and future dates, just not the current date. And yes, FitBit is aware.

Thank you for your comment, MrMarv. Unfortunately, I am using version 3.39 and the slow response time issues persist for me. Thank you for sharing the information about Nutrients - good to know!

A while ago I mentioned to my wife that the sluggishness that I was experiencing had gone away. She replied something along the lines of "I'm just so happy for you. I never had the problem until this morning!"

So just like the missing "NUTRIENTS" section that she didn't have an issue with until today, but I did and still do - this also appears to be a back-end configuration issue and not the app. I have no clue as to how many different servers, physical or virtual, are used to support all of the accounts, but you have to think with all of the "hit and miss" we are seeing it pretty much isn't just the app.

That’s sensible reasoning. It would be nice if these nuances could get worked out and the experience of using the app would be less chaotic.

I totally agree, the app is getting worse and worse with every new feature or update. Slow to find foods, slow to add them to the macro totals, random foods often added or items duplicated when you are not looking so you have to keep checking it's all correct, the list goes on and on. Sort it out Fitbit, I am always looking out for alternatives to the Fitbit brand now as the wearable items are good but the app, which is an essential partner to the devices is absolutely dire.
