For the past several weeks (after buying a new Fitbit to replace on le that I lost) the Fitbit app has required me to log in again every few days.
This NEVER happened over the last 3 year’s hat I owned my old Fitbit.
What gIves? It is very annoying! It interferes with sync...
how ow can I fix this?

This seems to be a known bug with the iOS app that's affecting a number of people. Keep an eye on the following thread which has the latest updates from fitbit:
