I've had my Fitbit charge for just over a year and just lately it saying the the battery is dead even tho it is fully charged. Not sure what the problem is. Hopefully it's not dead.

i already restart my phone, and also logged in online by fitbit. It still says that the battery is empty.

Hi there @ideman. Good to see you in the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂

I'm sorry you're having problems with the battery status on your app and on your online dashboard not updating 😕 Thanks for what you've already tried though!

I would say that this is because your tracker is not syncing. Your app needs your tracker to sync not just to transfer the recorded information but also to update the battery status and for that to reflect on the app.

Have you noticed by any chance if your tracker is having problems syncing? If so, you can start by giving it a restart. For this, do the following:

  1. Plug your charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Insert the other end into the port on the back of your Fitbit Charge or Fitbit Charge HR. Your tracker will begin charging.
  3. Press and hold the button for 10 to 12 seconds until you see the Fitbit icon and a version number (e.g. "V30").
  4. Let go of the button.
  5. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

Then, get it to sync and once this happens, the battery status should update on both your app and your online dashboard. Let me know how it goes!

Hai Ferdinand,

Thnx for your’e e-mail.

I have the flex2 fit bit

I dont understand what you mean by:

Insert the other end into the port on the back of your Fitbit Charge or Fitbit Charge HR.

Is this for a different kind of fitbit.

I have put the Cable into my laptop and pushed the reset button for 10 seconds but that does not work.

Greetings Ilja
