Fitbit app not syncing my sleep data only

The last three days my Charge 3 has had an error when syncing. It says “failed to sync”, but my steps sync, it’s only my sleep that doesn’t show up at all. (Separate issue, Daylight savings time night my steps were also all messed up- somehow I registered 2,000 in my sleep).

The app is up to date and my watch is charged. I tried resetting my iPhone and double checked the Bluetooth connection. Nothing helped. Any ideas?

Hello there @UMDeacon, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided about the error message you're getting every time you sync your sleep data. I appreciate you have taken the time to troubleshoot it prior to contacting us. Nice way to go! 

 

Besides the steps you've tried, please try the following:

 

  1. Remove your Charge 3 from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Turn off other Bluetooth settings that are nearby.
  3. Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  4. Restart your Charge 3.
  5. Open the Fitbit app, tap on your profile picture > Charge 3 > Sync Now

I tried all of those steps and it still doesn’t sync properly. The progress bar moves 1/2 way across the screen, my steps sync, but not my sleep and I get a “failed to sync” message every time.

Any other ideas? My app and my Charge 3 are both up to date. I have double checked that as well.
