This situation can be caused by 2 reasons. First, it's possible your friends haven't synced lately, which is why the totals are not updating. Second, the Fitbit app is not syncing the information correctly with our servers in which case I would like to suggest the following:

I'm also showing No Recent Activity in my Friends list. I've deleted the app, reinstalled, logged out, shut off my phone, logged back in, checked all my settings, etc. I hadn't used my FitBit for a little while but I've never had trouble with showing my recent activity before. I can see my friends recent activity and it's been updating. Please fix this issue as it's very frustrating. I'm also not receiving notifications.
UPDATE:
Okay, so I don't know if this is what fixed my issues or not but I was still searching for info and found the how to restart my fitbit. You select your fitbit style and it tells you how. I plugged mine in, pushed the button 3 times that's on the charger (I have an Alta) and waited for it to restart then took off the charger. Then I logged out of the app on my phone, closed it out, then opened it back up and logged back in and no it's showing my recent activity. I hope this helps!!!
Best AnswerI tried this and now I have no friends showing in the community section of the app. When I try to find contacts I am getting the error "API not found". I have also googled this but I do not understand the resolution. The Fitbit is recording all of my activities but stopped updating the community section about two days ago. Since logging out of the app, all of my contacts have disappeared from the community section but are still available for viewing via my profile.

I am experiencing the same thing with my Ionic. Has been happening for a coupe of days now and nothing I have tried to remedy it is working. I am assuming it is a bug or Fitbit based issue. Hoping that either they provide some steps to solve or fix it on their end soon. Looks like this has happened before.
