I’m having this same problem this morning. Was working fine last night and now it’s crashing. Both my OS and the app are the latest version. Tried turning my phone off and on, uninstalling and then reinstalling the Fitbit app and it’s still crashing. Was working fine since I got it until this morning

Same, worked fine this morning and now it just crashes!

Woke up this morning and tried to sync my sleep and the app crashed.

I’ve tried restarting my phone, deleting the app, reinstalling the app, removing the watch from my Bluetooth in my phone. Nothing.

I tried to download the app on my iPad. That worked long enough to sync my sleep and then also began crashing!

This has never happened before and all the usual fixes aren’t working! Help!

Has anyone actually managed to contact Support? I Tried to do live chat and received no response for 20 minutes so gave up -also tried to contact via Twitter 40 minutes ago as have as yet not received any response or acknowledgment of receipt of my question ! At one point when trying to access live chat , I received a message to advise that Chat was unavailable so send  an email - then received an email thanking me for contacting support and that they “no longer offer support by email” and I should use live chat or call them !

Why won’t my app open

Go to airplane mode and try again seems to work OK offline, so maybe I can use just bluetooth to connect to watch to retrieve data and hopefully Fitbit can fix the server issue in the background and give an update?

I tried all the suggestions too and it’s still crashing.

Turn off WIFI and DATA and the app will open. Once it's open turn on WIFI and DATA and you can sync etc. However, once you leave the app and come back it will crash.

That seems to be it.

  1. Go into airplane mode
  2. load app (it's been deleted so I have to log in again).
  3. Switch on wifi to login
  4. Switch off wifi
  5. Pair Bluetooth to sync
  6. Seems to sync
  7. Leave bluetooth on but now enable wifi
  8. App still open but now crashes 😕
  9. Not a sustainable state of affairs

But once it's crashed, even in airplane mode, it stays crashed!

I am having the same problem. Really frustrating. I am starting to feel like I have and issue with my fitbit twice a week 🙄

Same for me as well.

Best Answer

I guess it's an authentication issue with the server, so hopefully fitbit will address shortly

Started this AM…app crashes immediately on iPhone. I have tried a hard reboot, deleting & reinstalling app, (in different order as well), re -pairing Bluetooth connection, and my iOS software is up to date. Any suggestions as to what I can now do?

Thanks; it worked!

I want to add the steps that I have done. I have restarted my phone, I have reinstalled the app, I have forgotten the device, uninstalled, turned phone off and back on and then reinstalled (found in an old thread that that had worked) and none of that helped.

Same, APP immediately closes. Doctor’s appointment in 2 hrs and all my data is stored in it. Web version doesn’t have all the info I need.
I thought of deleting and reinstalling but afraid I’ll lose my data. Web version does say it synced 15 min ago?

EVERYONE SHOULD HIT THE “AFFECTS ME TOO” BUTTON ON THE FIRST POST TO GET FITBITS ATTENTION, PLEASE!
