Fitbit app still showing advertising.

I continue to receive unwanted advertising on the Fitbit app. I contacted Fitbit support in May 2017 and again June 12, 2018. It's reasonable to expect a setting in the app to allow advertising or not. At a recent business meeting (before 7/4/2018), when verifying an email message, an advertising pop up occurred for a Fitbit product, and was seen by others in the meeting (the Fitbit app was running in the background). This is totally unacceptable. Fitbit support has no response. Recently Fitbit revised the privacy policy, but apparently this revision only benefits them. If we, in the community, want this stopped, I encourage everyone to complain and eventually Fitbit will bow to the pressure and correct this unwanted intrusion.

I appreciate you have brought this to my attention. Please note that the data that any ads take up is negligible and they are always dismissible - you should be able to swipe or exit any ads in the app and these ads will only show when the app is open; the app will not display ads when you're using other app in your phone.

 

I appreciate your feedback about this feature, however It's likely that we'll continue to display the occasional ad to let customers know about new products or features.
