Why does the Fitbit dashboard show im a woman when I look at heart rate or sleep records? My profile information clearly reads I’m a male.

@SunsetRunner

The cartoon picture that shows up in your profile clearly shows your a male.

What are you seeing that states your profile is female.

@ACG -

I believe @SunsetRunner is talking about the app dashboard - specifically the Cardio Fitness score panel on the Heart Rate page and the Benchmark panel on the Sleep Stages page.

In my app they both have text stating "for men your age".

Ahhh, @MrMarv

My dashboard does not have any panels you are referring too. My older devices don't show that Information.

Ok, so when I go to the ‘sleep’ tile and then to today’s sleep graph, then press ‘benchmarks’ it then says “Ranges for women your age’. I’ve also had similar statements in the heart rate tile, something like “for women between 40 and 49 of age”.

I’m using a Charge 2. I really like it apart from this problem.

And I'm still using my ole faithful charge that has been working flawlessly for almost 2 years.

Just can't part with it just yet.

Hello @SunsetRunner, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board, it's nice to see you around too @ACG and @MrMarv, thanks for your insight about this situation. Smiley Happy

@SunsetRunner, please note that issue happens generally when no gender is selected when creating an account. Don't worry, this can be resolved fairly easy. Please try the following:

  1. Go to your Personal Settings in the online Dashboard.
  2. Locate gender, if nothing is selected please choose Male. If Male is already selected, choose Female, then save the settings by clicking on Submit.
  3. Change gender back to Male and save the settings by clicking on Submit once again.

Now, the benchmark for sleep will show the correct data.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let me know the outcome!

PROBLEM SOLVED!

Lol I have an android and an iphone both display the same issue. I decided to save my profile as a woman and then saved it as a man....Yes it works! Now I just saw your note  Fitbit should be able to fix this with ease. Error when  setup as a man it keeps displaying you have one more thing to do to complete the setup. That's your gender. Even you save it as man it does not see it as a update save.
