Fitbit eating up battery since updating to iOS 16.5

The Fitbit app has been eating up my battery on my iPhone 14 and it seems to be tied to the iOS update to 16.5. I've always had my Versa 2 on Bluetooth, background activity, and cellular.  Deleting and re-installing the Fitbit app didn't help as the app still takes 68% or more of my daily battery use.  I have not been very active due to a long-term illness, but that hasn't affected the app or battery life in the past.  This seems to be an issue going back to May/June 2023.  For now, I have closed the app on my iPhone but this is not a long-term solution as I have my employer's wellness program tied to the Fitbit app.
