Thank You. My Son-in-Law is safe now with a pacemaker thanks to his Fitbit. He hadn’t been feeling well for some time. And dr didn’t know why. While working out one day checked his heart rate. Not high enough so went back to check. Found his heart rate was falling into 30-40 range at times. Thank you so much. If he didn’t have that info he could have died. He is only in his 30’s works out and runs. Marie C

I am so happy for you.
I also have a similar story, not that my Alta HR saved me, but with us suspecting that I had an issue after an attack of viral pneumonia, my wife got the device and I used it to make sure I stayed out of trouble heart rate wise until all of the tests were over which showed the virus attacked my heart and I had a Left Bundle Branch blockage, a dilated left ventricle and an Ejection Fraction of about 20%. 55% is ok 35% is worrisome and 20% is just "take it easy until we can schedule an operating suite".
Now I use it to monitor the performance of my CRT-D - for those who don't know, it is a Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Defibrillator. Or, in layman terms, a pacemaker/defibrillator combo pack.
It is calming to know that my heart rate doesn't climb nearly as fast as before and recovers from 120 to 80 in 30 seconds when it used to take nearly two minutes.
And I can play with my 18 month old Grandson anytime I want. That is the important thing, as I'm sure you know.
Once again, I am happy for you and your Son-in-Law - and by extension, your Daughter.
Welcome back from the deep and welcome to the boards.

Yesterday my father was mowing the lawn and dropped to the ground with dizziness, we checked his blood sugar it was fine, checked the Fitbit and his heart rate was 35!!! This is the ONLY reason he went to the hospital, without that Fitbit showing him data he probably would have just chalked it up to feeling crappy, an hour later he was having s pacemaker fed into his heart from his neck. He is in surgery now for the pacemaker/defib. Thank Fitbit!
