I'd suggest you restart your tracker and then set up your tracker as a new device by following these instructions. Note that if you have not synced in over 24 hours, your activity data for previous days will be lost and only today's data will remain.

Before I do restart or try to re-attach the fitbit to my iphone, please explain what the issue is and why this will correct it permanently. Or are we just trying the equivalent of "we don't know what else to try"?

"take a look" is part of the CC signature, standard shown below every post..

I hope you're doing great @dougryan99! Allow me to help, since the Charge HR is always On we recommend doing the restart in order to refresh the internal logs of the tracker. If the issue persists you can also try the troubleshooting steps listed on this article.
