Hello @Pooki914, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, have you recently changed phones? Have you restarted your Charge 2 and your phone lately? If you have recently changed phones, please go to your old phone's Bluetooth settings and check if your tracker is listed under paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device. Then open the Fitbit app in your iPhone X and try to sync again.

If you have not changed phones or if you no longer have the old phone at hand, let's add your tracker as a new device to establish a new connection with your phone and your Charge 2. Don't worry, none of the information already stored in your account will be deleted.

To set up your tracker as a new device:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  4. When the app asks you to replace your current tracker, please replace it and continue with the process.
  5. When a pop up appears asking you to "pair" your tracker with your phone, tap on Pair and continue.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Would it be possible for you to let me know the exact troubleshooting steps you've already tried in hopes to resolve this issue? That will be very helpful for me to determine which steps should we take next.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting for your reply.

Hi there,

My Fitbit won’t pair with my iPhone X. I have a new phone. I have turned Bluetooth off and back on and have ‘forget this device’ in the Fitbit app. Would love your help!

I made the mistake of not un-synching my fit bit from my old phone before synching to my new phone. After I un-synchro it from my old phone it paired fine to my new phone.
Hope that helps

Hello @Pjwingard, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Thanks for taking the time to reply @Pooki914, I hope you're doing well. Smiley Happy

@Pooki914, I'm very glad your issue has now been resolved after removing your tracker from your old phone, thanks for coming back and let me know.

@Pjwingardm, as you have already removed the tracker from the Bluetooth settings on your phone, I would like to suggest you to

please try the following:

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone; wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  2. Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal and that there are no other Bluetooth devices around that might interfere with the setup process.
  3. Restart your tracker, then leave it plugged in and charging.
  4. If you can't set up after a restart, reboot your phone or tablet and try to set up again.
  5. If you can't set up after the reboot, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your phone or tablet and try to set up tracker one more time.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Ionic, which has been paired with IPhone in the past, now will not re-pair with IPhone.  It is stuck on the screen which asks for the 4 digit code and continually says that there is a problem communicating with the tracker and to try again - I reboot the Ionic, I switch on and off Bluetooth, but still no result.  Any more ideas?

At this moment I would like to ask you to go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your watch is on the list of paired devices. I appreciate you have already tried all the troubleshooting steps I've provided earlier. At this moment I would like to suggest you to update the Fitbit app if you haven't done it yet, then try to set up your Fitbit device again. If this doesn't work, restart the device, leave it plugged in and charging and try again. Make sure the screen on your phone doesn't lock while the Fitbit app is setting up the tracker.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

I just got a new fitbit Versa and I have an iPhone X - neither my phone nor fitbit app is able to find my device. I have done all the restarts as suggested and it is still not discovering the new device.

I've read several post from others who are having the same syncing issues - this device is way too costly to have such issues!! I've been messing with this off and on all day. Getting very frustrated!

Steps I've taken:

1. disabled blue tooth on my iphone, enabled it.

2. Restarted iphone watied 2 minutes before powering back on

3. restarted versa fitbit

4. hard shutdown fitbit app

5. installed fitbit connect on my macbook pro - says the tracker is not paired to an account. When I select "setup a new fitbit device" it does not have the Versa brand listed to select - has several other brands to select from.

What next? If I cannot get the device to sync, I will be returning and getting a different brand.

Update: --- so it turns out that I was choosing the wrong fitbit version - I needed to select versa lite instead of just versa. Once I chose the correct one, it sync'd in the fitbit app.
