I have bought myself a new Fitbit, the Alta hr. my daughter has inherited my old Fitbit surge.
We've up an account for her on her iPhone 5s. Done all the instructions to try and get the Fitbit surge to sync with her iPhone and it just says "searching". Yes, we have reset the phone, Fitbit surge, switched Bluetooth on/off etc.
Any ideas?

Hello @hj_townsend, I hope you're doing well, it's nice to see you around.
If you have recently changed trackers, it's possible your Surge still has a Bluetooth link between with your phone, in which case I would like to suggest you to go to your Bluetooth settings and check if Surge is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device. Then, try to pair the Surge with your daughter's account:
- Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal
- Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around that might interfere with the setup process.
- Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
- Choose the tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.
