Fitbit to monitor a senior's health

Thinking about buying a Luxe or Charge 5 for my senior mom.

Hoping that I could track her health with it. I believe you can have a tracker update the iOS Health App and share data that way.

A key would seem to be that the fitbit automatically update the iOS app.  My mom is a Technophobe and very forgetful.

Also, I see the Charge 5 has some GPS compatibility.  Might it be possible to track her location if she forgets to bring her phone?

Thanks.

Hi @Macfugu,

In order for her information to be tracked by you, you would have to be in close proximity to her, since syncing is connected to the app via Bluetooth.

Sorry, but not a good match for this use.  I believe no on all counts.   I believe it does not sync to IOS Health app.  GPS signal only goes back to the worn tracker or connected phone, is good for only a few hours at a time, and greatly reduces battery life. The best you might be able to do is indirectly track her daily step count, and that only if she has a smart phone with fitbit app on it, kept phone and fitbit charged, kept the fitbit synced to the phone app, etc.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
