Fitbit won’t sync while on cellular data after updating to iOS 15

Just a heads up if you’re using iOS 15 new privacy relay feature the Fitbit app won’t sync to your Fitbit while on cellular data. If you’re on your home WiFi it works fine. Apple has a ticket open.

Ever since downloading iOS15 I am unable to get vibrations on my notifications.

My iPhone isn't on Do Not Disturb, nor is the Versa 2 on Sleep Mode or Do Not Disturb. I have restarted the app, my phone, my Fitbit, reset all notifications on both the Fitbit App and on Settings so I no longer have any other options to pursue. However, when I get a call, it does vibrate.

Is anyone else having the same issues since updating or is this just a coincidence?

Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Brad

So is Fitbit going to fix the problem , or just keep us waiting. Custmer support emailed me a few days ago asked a few questions, I answered their questions now no response from them

Just for the record - I have the same problem with my Sense. I can see notifications when I explicitly show all notifications with swipe down on my Sense BUT I don't receiving any push notifications to my Sense since iOS 15 upgrade. In this state are my Sense useless.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @j3ronimo.

Thank you for the information provided.

To resolve issues with notifications we recommend following these troubleshooting steps.

In addition, you can set up your Fitbit Sense as a replacement device:

  1. Tap the Today tab EdsonFitbit_0-1633303045812.png, and tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap Set Up a Device.
  3. Choose your device and follow the on-screen instructions to continue.

I haven't been able to sync using the iOS app in a few weeks and don't have access to WiFi at the moment to try syncing without cellular data. Is the private relay feature is only available with iCloud+? If so, I can't try that workaround either 😕

Still an ongoing issue and the only responses I get are asinine "trouble shooting" suggestions like "please try changing your watch face."

Huh? are you guys serious?   This issue is seriously so annoying mainly because no one at Fitbit seems to actually have the capacity to understand the issue.  "please make sure you background app refresh is on.  Please make sure you have cellular data turned on.  Please make sure your bluetooth is on."

How about please update your app to fix bugs that occur with OS updates???

jeeeeeezus, this worked...  how is it possible that NO ONE at Fitbit was able to suggest this solution or figure it out after weeks and weeks of back and forth with them????

also, it's a bit concerning that syncing data from my tracker to my phone won't work with iCloud private relay on - this suggests that they are collecting some degree of data with each sync that is specific to you outside of expected Fitbit app privacy permissions data (location, phone activity, browsing across other apps, etc).

Thanks for this post!
