Floor tile not showing up in the app Dashboard.

I am having the exact same problem. I clicked the "x" and floors completely disappeared. There is no option to bring it back. I even deleted the app and re-loaded it, it still does not have the option to re-add. I am also irritated with the fact that I cannot add it back. Clicking on the edit button does not give the option to bring it back. I tried to post a pic, but its not letting me.

Hello @MrsPrat, thanks for taking the time to reply, I hope you're having a great day. Smiley Happy

The Flex, Flex 2, Alta and Alta HR don't count floors because they don't include an altimeter as the other trackers. To make them slimmer, this feature was not included.

If you add another tracker to your account (one that can track floors), the floor tile will appear again. Please note that you can have more than one tracker linked to your account but not 2 of the same tracker linked to it.

I hope this can be helpful, in case you need anything else, please keep me posted. Smiley Wink

Argh! I dont know what phone you have, or what "x" you two clicked. All i see are garbage cans to delete and pencils to edit.

However as explained above, floors can not be manually added. They can only be removed by logging the time as driving, which makes it even more puzzling as to what this "x" is.

I have an iPhone and use the Fitbit app for my iPhone. If you have an iPhone and you're trying to delete your apps, the same little "x" appears in the upper left corner. Same when you are on the Fitbit app. When you go to "edit" you can click the "x" in the upper left corner of the item (floors, steps, calories, active minutes and miles) to delete it. However, once it has been deleted you cannot get it back. Unlike the items below those (consecutive days of exercise, sleep, heart rate, water, food, etc.) that if you click the "x" to delete it, it just hides it from the dashboard and you can add it back at anytime. I have not tried to delete any of the other items on top (calories, steps, active minutes or miles) because I'm worried I won't be able to get those back either.

Ive moved your post out of the fitbit.com forum and into the ios forum. This should help in getting an answer.

Hello @MrsPrat, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to see new faces around. It's nice to see you as well @Rich_Laue, thanks for your insight about this situation.

@MrsPrat, which tracker are you currently using? Please remember that if you're using an Alta, Alta HR, Flex or Flex 2, the floor tile will not show in the app Dashboard as these do not track floors.

If you have any other device other than the ones listed and you're still not seeing the Floor tile, please take a screenshot of your dashboard and reply to me with it using these instructions to upload the image.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply. Smiley Wink

Thank you, that makes sense. I have an Alta HR. Why do these specific trackers not track floors? That is good to know because I did notice that I went up about 10 flights and it didn't record them.

Thanks for responding! So, if I happen to get another tracker, will it then appear on my app?

My husband is getting very frustrated with his Surge Classic. He has a new phone and it is not showing floors or active minutes on the dashboard. Do you have something I can tell him. He has tried deleting and reloading multiple times and has spent at least 4 hours on this.

Hello @Tehescmarts, thanks for joining the conversation, it's great to have you on board the Fitbit Community.

Usually when a tile is not showing in the Fitbit app is because of two different reasons:

  1. Your tracker has been removed accidentally from the account: To check this, please tap on the Account button and verify that your tracker is listed under your Name. If it's not, please set it up as a new device:
    • Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
    • Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  2. The tile has been removed from the Dashboard and is not invisible: To verify this, please scroll down until you find the Edit button. Tap on it and the invisible tiles will display a plus sign on the top left corner, tap on the plus sign to make them visible again.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else. Smiley Wink

Thank you for your help. It turns out he was downloading the wrong program or telling the program that he had the wrong type of fitbit. All working quite well. He is very happy and busy keeping all those items green. 🙂
