GPS tracker not accurate

I have suspected for a while that the GPS tracker on the Fitbit App has been slightly off, mainly because it has been telling me that I have been walking 10 minute miles!! I wish. I ran the Fitbit tracker and Map My Walk tracker concurrently on my walk to work this morning and the two maps showed identical drawn routes, but the Fitbit App showed a distance of 3.59 miles and a very fast avg speed and Map My Walk showed 2.89 miles and a much slower pace! Can I do anything to correct this?

Hello @Duckpizza, I hope you're having a great day, it's nice to see you around! Smiley Happy

If the map seems identical on the both apps you're using, it's probably a great idea to verify your Stride Length and adjust it if necessary on the Fitbit app.

To measure your walking stride length:

  1. Go to a track or some place where you're sure of the distance.
  2. Count your steps as you walk across that distance, making sure you travel at least 20 steps.
  3. Divide the total distance (in feet) taken by the number of steps to get your stride length.

Your running stride can be calculated the same way if you run instead of walk. Then, open the Fitbit app and tap on Account > Advance Settings > Stride Length and adjust it if necessary.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else! Smiley Wink
