GPS tracking repeats mile

After walking 9 miles I looked at the gps tracking and while the total distance is right, it repeated mile 6 and skipped mile 7. So it went 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6, 8, 9. Seems like a bug. Was wondering if anyone else has seen this.

Hi @Mes11mini. Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. This sounds odd as the miles should show consecutive numbers. Just to confirm, is the Fitbit app updated to the latest version? If that's correct, please log out from your account, force quit the Fitbit app, reboot your phone, open the Fitbit app, log back in and check your exercise details.

If the issue persists, I'll need you to provide me with the following:

  1. Your phone's model and iOS version.
  2. The Fitbit app version. This can be found in the App Store.
  3. A screenshot of what is displayed on the Fitbit app. For instructions to attach it in your reply, check this post.

I'll be around, keep me posted.

Hi @Mes11mini. It's good to see you again and I'm sorry for the delayed response.

Thanks for getting back with the requested information. The screenshot was very helpful! Since everything is updated, it seems that this was caused by a connection issue with the GPS. While there isn't a way to edit the number of the mile tracked on your walk, I'd recommend to check this help article where you'll find some tips to track GPS data. Please monitor your data on the next days making sure the GPS is connected during your exercise. If this continues happening, don't hesitate to reply back so I can work on this with you.

Hi Lizzy,

It did it to me again yesterday.  I've verified that everything is working according to the link you sent. It's not a big deal to me. I just wanted to report the bug.

Every time I go over 7 miles the indicator repeats the 6 on the 7th mile. It happened again today. Has no one else really seen this before?

Hi @Mes11mini. It's great to see you back and I'm sorry for the delayed response.

Thanks for taking the time taken to check my post, as well for sharing another screenshot of this error. This is odd as the number of miles recorded should be consecutive, and appreciate you for reporting this issue. I've gone ahead and shared all your details to our team so they can look into your posts and further investigate this situation. Once I have more details, I'll update this thread.

In the meantime, make sure to keep your Fitbit device and the Fitbit app updated to the latest version so the rest of your details can be recorded accurately. If you have any other question, don't hesitate to let me know.

Here's a different example. iOS 13.3.1 with Fitbit 3.18 (931) and a Charge 3 running version 20001.63.5.
