I keep getting messages about moving my account to GOOGLE. Google is one of the worst tracking companies on the internet, and will not ever do that. So should I sell my Fitbit, because someone out there isn't thinking about the privacy factor. I certainly hope that my fitbit doesn't know where I've been, and isn't tracking me, otherwise it's going in the Fire PIT! When will we be able to go about our business and not let the world know about it! As it is now I use a VPN, Have NON TRACKING Software installed, and do not keep any cookies at all, in fact when I do allow them, when my browser closes, they all get deleted./
Comments anyone?

Hello @Rodguru and welcome to the Community. First, I want to say the Product Experts aren't Fitbit/Google employees. I'm just the messenger. Please don't shoot the messenger. Second, I understand where you are coming from. My husband shudders every time I mention the Google account upcoming requirement. But Google owns Fitbit and can update the terms and conditions for continued use of their products. You have until 2025 to decide.

Best AnswerHi Rod,
i am disappointed as well. I am searching for a replacement for this once perfect app. My heartrate, sleep & steps are incorrect. There is oura & applewatch. Do you have any other suggestions?
Best AnswerHello @Rodguru
I share your concern about privacy when using any google product. It's the reason I de-googled many years ago. If I have to create a google account to continue using my fitbit, I'm done with fitbit. When my current fitbit bites the dust, I'm done with fitbit. Rest assured that google tracks you with the fitbit app, so make sure location services are only enabled "While Using" and don't allow the app to run in the background.

Best Answer@Rodguru This Help article says that Google will be transparent about the timeline of ending Fitbit accounts within the app and by email. I'm not an employee and I don't have any additional information beyond what is available in the Help article or tech sites. Ending Fitbit accounts certainly sounds like they will be shut down.
