Heartbeat Graph Scales

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The Graph for Heartbeat, when in portrait view has a verticle (y axis) scale customised to the upper and lower recorded Heartbeats.  When expanding the view and going to Landscape (or staying in Portrait for that matter) the scale goes to a predetermined and fixed scale between 40 and 240 which makes the view less easy to study.  Is there any way (or update) that could reduce the y axis scale in the expanded view back to the customised upper and lower limits of the recorded Heartbeat.

Hello @MrRon, have a warm welcome to the Community! Smiley Happy

Currently, it's not possible to adjust the heart rate graph while in landscape mode. However, I've found a suggested idea by @bjohnson44 to implement this feature in a new update. Feel free to add your comment and vote to show your support, this is the best way to make your voice heard.

I hope this information has been useful, keep me posted in case you need anything else!. Smiley Wink

People have been asking for this for months, and all we see is "it will be in a future update".  When will this be released given the number of people who are asking for it and how long this issue has been open?

It seems like a relatively minor change to make: Add a new optional attribute to each user's account record "Max HR Value to Graph" that defaults to 240 or whatever (I highly doubt that more than a minuscule percentage of fitbit users would ever see such a high HR).

Whenever a user invokes the graph function on their device, scale it by this value if present in their account record, otherwise fall back to the default value.  It's a small change to make, so why is taking so long to implement?

Hi,

Your solution is fine; any solution to address the issue is a benefit to the product.

I agree, this should be easy to implement and would make the heartbeat graph much more useful. My resting heartbeat is low (45), and I rarely go over 120, so half the graph is wasted, and I can't see what my heart rate is during the day because everything is squished down!

Instead of a user-defined max as suggested by another customer above, just automatically set the max y axis to a bit more than the max heart rate being graphed. So, no GUI changes required!

Hi,

The Resting Heartbeat Graph does this auto-sizing when first opened or expanded (in both portrait and landscape), which was my original basis of discussion.  I find it difficult to see why the Fitbit team did not continue the same principle when opening the graphs of the daily detailed heart rate.

Maybe they will reply to this discussion some time.

Resting Heartbeat of 45 ??? are you really alive?? Mine runs around the 68 mark, but then i am not fit really.

Keep well
