Hearth Rhythm Assessment not supported in my location.

I'm trying desperately, in spite of the <deity>-awful UI in the Fitbit app (who the hell created this thing!) to get the ECG feature to work on my Charge 5. I've followed all the steps I can find, nobody even mentions anywhere in the instructions that if you can't see the ECG app at all you need to setup a location, I discovered that by chance. Once I set my location in the iOS app to UK, the ECG app became available and I installed it. Now when I try to use it, it directs me to the "Heart Rhythm Assessment" section in the "Assessments and Reports" section in the "Discover" tab, there is no "Assessments and Reports" section, see screen shot 1 below. If I launch the app from the button on the Charge 5 (when it sees fit to recognise a connection to the phone, which is only occasionally), it takes me to a page which tells me it's not supported in my location, with a link to the list of locations, which includes the UK!!!

What a ridiculous pain this is, why does everything have to be so **ahem** difficult! I paid for this device on the premise of the ECG feature and checked it was available in my location before spending, and now the <deity>-awful software is making it impossible.

I've wasted hours on this nonsense, can someone from Fitbit sort this out please? Not impressed so far, should have gone with the Apple Watch as I planned.

Just in case anyone stumbles across this when searching for a solution. After 3 ineffectual chats with Fitbit support, I managed to solve the problem myself. The Fitbit support staff had me uninstall and reinstall the iOS app multiple times, uninstall and reinstall the ECG app on the Charge 5, and reset all my user data on the Charge 5 (so I now have to re-setup my Fitbit pay, thanks folks!), and various other standard crib-sheet things to try to get it working to no avail.

I spent some time looking over the details in the iOS app, the whole thing seems to be a hot mess, whoever designed it should be ashamed. The first problem, there is a place in the Settings-->Personal Info-->Personal section there is a location, only if you set that to a supported location will the ECG app show in the app gallery and be installable. Then, the problem of why I couldn't see the "Assessments and Reports" in the "Discover" tab was much more fun. I traced through the Google account details and found the Fitbit data and privacy section, in which there is a link that lists the signed-in devices, on fitbit.com. Upon inspecting my phone entry, it showed my correct IP address, but my location shows as IL, which I presume to be Israel, not GB. I plugged my IP into a geolocation service and it correctly identified it as GB, so there is something wrong with Fitbit's geolocation service. I eventually got things working by switching on my VPN and routing through London, even though I'm in the UK, and then all of a sudden the "Assessments and Reports" section showed up and I could get the ECG setup. Interestingly, even when I switch the VPN off now, the entry remains, so I presume it's a one-time check in the app.

Hope this helps anyone experiencing a similar problem, and perhaps gives Fitbit some pointers to sort out their own mess.
