Hey, so I’ve looked at this a bit, but would appreciate help from those of you that can 100% confirm features.
My dad suddenly went deaf two weeks back, which sucks. While we’re waiting for a cochlea implant, I wanted to buy a wearable that would allow message from Facebook messenger via his iPad (v4?). Trying to use that at the moment as he’s a pensioner and not on an unlimited data plan. Just want to keep him in good spirits and connected to the bigger world.
What Fitbit will receive messages (vibrate) in order to let him know when someone has sent a message? He doesn’t need to be able to read it on the device, just know it’s arrived. I think the Alta will, but would love confirmation before the $ outlay.
thanks guys, appreciate it.

Hello @Coppernanotube, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board.
I appreciate your participation in the forums and for letting us know about your situation. Currently, if you want a Fitbit device that will be able to receive Facebook Messenger notifications your options are the Fitbit Ionic and the Fitbit Versa, as the Alta is only able to receive text (sms) notifications.
Personally, I would like to suggest you to take the time to compare between Fitbit Devices to get a better insight of the functions each device has and make a better and more informed decision. Additionally, you can check if your dad's iPad is showing under our list of compatible devices as well.
I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.
